We got up around 7:30 (pretty amazing for us but we "might" have stayed up really late watching "The Unit"), we ate a light breakfast, drank some coffee then we
listened to a sermon on Hillcrest online. It was very good. We shared in communion
and then took a peaceful drive around the area. We stopped at Moss Cave and Waterfall and hiked the short
(less than a mile) hike, took a few pictures then drove on to the Escalante area on
Scenic 12 Hwy. Had planned on stopping in several places, but found most things were closed today.
The deer grazing across from our trailer this morning.

Kind of a fuzzy picture, but this was my date for my Mother's Day lunch.
So sweet and yes, guess what we had...a Margherita Pizza and a big salad. Yum!
This man might be on a quest to find the most perfect wood fire oven pizza.
I don't mind helping him. Bring on the carbs!
It was nice, nothing breathtaking like the things we have seen thus far but nice. We stopped in Escalante, Larry wanted to take me out to lunch for Mother's Day and ate we ate at the Escalante Outfitters and Pizza Company.
Nice lunch, though I admit I am kind of fighting the blues today. Wishing to see my
kids! And as always, so many of my thoughts on Mother's Day go to my own Mom. Though I am so very thankful she has reached her goal because she fought the good fight and I know she is at peace and in no pain, I still miss her! She was one good momma! Through the course of the afternoon and evening I got a sweet call from both Zach and Ashley, which of course warmed my heart and we are truly blessed with such amazing kids!!! We drove back
to campground late afternoon and both did some stuff around the camp and
trailer that needed to be done. Decided to go ahead and do a couple of loads of washing, which felt
good to get things clean again. We both seem to be wearing the same things over
and over because we brought so few warm clothing items and it has been chilly so far!
Hence, why in all the pictures it looks like we never change clothes! :)
Larry hooked up the Jeep to the trailer
so in the morning will be easier. We had such a big lunch that we went easy on dinner and ended up watching a few more episodes of "The Unit" as it was so chilly after the sunset! Brr, plus it is super windy here! We did step outside once it was really dark and oh my, the stars were amazing!!!
This was a much more laid back day than most, but it has been nice. Tomorrow we will pull out and head for Capital Reef area.

Time for another adventure.
We liked Bryce Canyon, but we
are ready to venture on and see what is next on
"The Great Holly Adventure!"
