May 12th...Capitol Reef...Day Two

Slept good, enjoyed a cup of coffee, got ready and headed into town to register Larry to do a “fly fishing excursion” on Wednesday. Around 11, we drove to Capitol Reef and did the Hickman Bridge hike. It was around 3.5 miles but boy it was a lot of rocks to climb over so it wore us both out. We did a couple more short looks/hikes and then drove to see the Waterfold area, very interesting but a lot of bumpy roads!

 So incredible!

Some cool petroglyphs
Another day of hiking...this one was actually quite warm!

Then back to the Casita. We were both worn out. I worked on loading pictures, Larry started getting his fishing gear ready for his fish trip. Then we made pie iron egg sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches, outside on the grill. Cleaned up for supper and decided to call it an early evening as we were so tired. Around 8 PM, a Casita pulled in right next to us and as soon as they were out of their vehicle, they were knocking on the door to meet us. Will and JoAnna Young from Washington. They told us they were here for a gathering of Casita’s at the Capitol Reef Campground the next day, which explains why we saw three Casita's yesterday in the C.R. Park Campground. They will join up with this group and see all the parks we have just come from. It was fun to talk about our Casita’s and they were a super fun couple. We visited about 30 minutes and then said goodnight, they were headed off to eat. We watched a couple of our shows then called it a day.
