Got up fairly early, packed up camp and headed to Bryce by 8:30.
The road out was through Zion and two tunnels, one short one and one
very long one. Larry is not a fan of tunnels period, so driving in pitch black,
pulling a trailer was not something he was looking forward to. Plus tons of
switchbacks on this road but he did so amazing and it helped also that we were out before the traffic got bad. We
stopped at a German Bakery, where we had a
pastry each and got three to go for future treats.
We arrived at Ruby’s RV Park around 11, checked in and got set up at our site. This site doesn’t hold a candle to the last place. Very few trees, lots of gravel and “parking lot” type sties. We are missing our last site! But its super clean and since we spend so little time at the campground anyway, it will be fine! We ate a quick lunch after we were set up, drove to the visitors center which is only about 10 miles away and watched a video about Bryce and picked up the next postcards to send to the grands. Then we took the park rangers suggestion as to the best way to get a good overview of the park and drove straight up to the top, Rainbow Bridge Overlook and stopped at the 13 scenic spots coming back down toward the visitors center. Very cool! Very COLD too. It begin to snow very lightly when we got to the top, and the snow kept following us down the mountain. We would get out and it wouldn’t be snowing, but by the time we would taken pictures, look around the snow flurries would appear. Weather station is predicting 1-3 inches in the night. That sounds fun in some ways but it will kill us hiking tomorrow as the hikes will be too slick. So, we are on the fence whether or not we want snow, but since its not our decision...we will just go with the flow! By the time we left the Park...it was snowing pretty good.

The scenery is so different from Zion and yet so unusual and breathtaking. Here are the pictures for each overlook:
We came back into the area around the campground and visited a couple of general stores. Then we drove back to our spot, and though it was only 6, we called it a day on sightseeing. We made Sloppy Joe's and toasted our bread on the inside store since it is VERY cold outside. We had fun eating inside, talking about our day and looked over the map to the hikes we hope to take the next two days. We made up ham and scalloped potatoes in the crock pot to let cook in the night for tomorrow supper.
