May 14, 2015...Moah here we come!

Woke up to a nice rain so we were very thankful we had done a lot of the prep work for taking off last night. We already were hooked up to the Jeep so just a few things to do outside before we were ready to start our next adventure. Parks 4 and 5 here we come! We were on the road by 8 and once again the drive was lots of ups and downs, switchbacks which were all made a little more tedious by the fact it rained the entire time. We were very thankful when we arrived in Moab around noon, safe and sound.
Lots of fun car talk while traveling, I sure do love hanging out with my hubby and just having this time together...I feel so extremely blessed to be on this life journey with him.

We pulled into the campground, which is very conveniently located to Moab and the Arches. We set up the trailer and ate some lunch while making our plan!

We headed straight to the Arches National Park Visitor's enter, watched the video (which we have learned by this time are a great way to learn a quick history of the park while getting a good overview of all the park has to offer in about a 10 minute video). We decided to do the scenic drive throughout the park, stopping along the way and doing a couple of short hikes...nothing hard but still fun to get off the beaten path any chance we get! In a very short amount of time, we already took in a ton of amazing sights and look forward to having more time to discover all this park has to offer.

We find it so crazy how some massive rock can just be balancing on the edge of nothing!
Just hope no one is hiking under that when it decided to fall!

The sizes of the rocks...hard to describe...

This is Enchanted Rock...a MASSIVE rock, that is once again, just balancing atop something smaller...you just wonder how it holds?!?!?

Sadly, we watched our whole trip for some mountain goats-big horn goat sitings but this was the only ones we saw! They stood really still for the picture though! :)
Bad hair day...but hey...when your camping
bad hair days are acceptable! Right?!!
We headed into Moab, Utah and we were surprised by the size of this town. Most of the towns we have come across thus far have been tiny...not even with a grocery store. So to have a nice size grocery store was a good thing, since we were in need of several items and a good time to stock the trailer back up for this leg of the trip.

The other thing we were surprised by was the fact that the town is CRAWLING with people! There is a huge 4 wheeler/Jeep rally going on this entire weekend and they are everywhere! I mean everywhere! The traffic in the town was horrible because there are so many tourists here to play! :)

We ate at a place called "Moab Brewery" and enjoyed a burger, nothing fabulous (obviously because there aren't any pictures!) but it was nice to not cook this evening. Then we enjoyed a gelato before heading driving around town a bit and then on to get our groceries and back to the campground to settle in and make our plan for tomorrow.
We have decided instead of facing all the crowds that are EVERYWHERE around Moah/Arches, we will head to the Canyonlands and then hopefully by Monday, the crowds will be less at the Arches again. We don't like hiking when its a steady stream of people!
